Amazon's robotaxis 🚕, pills full of sensors 💊, ChatGPT for Bing rolling out 🥳, and some more!

Hi and welcome to another week of Augmented Rarity 💚

I must confess I almost had to skip this week too because life has been extremely busy, but decided on making a shorter one instead, so let’s start! 👽

🤖 Artificial Intelligence

• ChatGPT for Bing is finally available 🥳. Another confession: I haven't signed up for the waitlist yet, but I'm going to 🫡. While we get access to it, we can start testing it using one of the several examples they show on the waiting list landing page. The wait they've built is exactly the same as a ChatGPT Chrome extension I've been using for some time, which works pretty well, so I'm even more hyped now 👀.

  

• Robotaxis are the new big thing 🚕. Fully autonomous electric taxis. Yes, as autonomous as they are driverless. And no, we're not talking about Tesla, we're talking about Amazon. Well, actually Zoox, a startup that Amazon bought, so let's hope they're safer, as they claim that 94% of accidents are caused by people, so this would drastically reduce them 🤞. The design is very cute though.

• As they say, haste makes waste. Even if you are Google. And especially when you're rushing to compete with another tech giant like Microsoft. And yes, I'm talking about the botched announcement of Bard, Google's rival to ChatGPT 🫣, a $120 billion AI chatbot that gave the wrong answer about a NASA telescope while being distributed as promotional material 🫠

🧪 Biotechnology

• Would you swallow a pill full of sensors? 💊 Probably not yet, but engineers at MIT and Caltech are working on one that could help monitor digestive problems without exposing the patient to X-rays ☢️

🛸 Space

• Saudi Arabia to send first woman astronaut into space this year 🚀. Rayyana Barnawi will join Ali Al-Qarni on a 10-day mission to the International Space Station (ISS). It's sad to have to mention such things, but at least it means we're getting there 😌
