Google gets back into AR 👓 , DALLE opens up its beta to 1M invites 🤖, and (not so) more! ✨
Hi again! Welcome back to Augmented Rarity 💚 Some weeks are filled with news, but everyone but us may be on vacation lol 🏝
Let's begin 👇
Artificial Intelligence
If you didn’t get invited to test DALLE·2 before 🤖, it’s your turn now since DALLE opens up its beta to over a million invites! The main difference is that DALLE owned your creations before, but now you own them and can make money from them (even LinkedIn’s CEO is doing it and selling them as NFTs 🤑). How come? Because DALLE is not free anymore. I'll discuss this on YouTube soon 📼.
Meanwhile, my previous video discussed how artificial intelligence will help creatives rather than make us jobless 🎨, and in this one I show you how by using it for graphic design! 👩🏻💻
Extended Reality
Finally! We always focus on Meta and Apple, sometimes we focus on Microsoft and Magic Leap, but we never focus on the company that brought AR to the masses with those cardboard glasses almost a decade ago (2014) and also risked bringing Mr into our lives with Google Glass! But it is finally back in the game since next month Google will be testing their new AR glasses in public 👓.
In case you are interested about knowing when will Apple launch their first AR headset, this page updates weekly with all the rumours 🍎.
This one is not so XR at the moment, but could be in the future. Researchers are hacking fruit flies' brains to learn how to control human brains remotely 🪰. It will be primarily focused on treating brain diseases, but some sort of telepathy device is also being considered 🧠. Saying this while another Neuralink founder leaves the company.
And I think I’ll leave it here because I don’t want to spam you with non related news! Speaking of spam, this is the video that I posted yesterday testing DALLE as if I were a Creative Director working with an AI as my only intern 👇
✨ Why? ✨ Because I wanted to see if you could really use this tool for more than just art. And the results are pretty good! I've tried it for logo design, interior design, packaging design and web design. Let me know what you think 💜
Thank you so much for reading, will be back next Sunday as usual 👩🏻💻
Best,
Martina
