Guard robots at American campuses π¨
Hi all, hope you are having a great Sunday βΊοΈ. Today's topic is not so great though, so here comes a rant.
In my recent post on robots replacing children in schools, I mentioned how Japan and China are taking the lead in this robot adoption at schools, but they are not the only ones, and the reasons are even more devastating than anxious children.
This year, the US is also rolling out robots, but with a different purpose: to protect their students from gun violence. 200kg AI-powered roving cameras in the shape of a brontosaurus that can aim a non-lethal laser at an intruder, communicate with security guards and alert others via megaphone.
