Robots inheriting your personality 🤖, the Coachellaverse 🕺, and more!
Hola! Thanks for coming back to Augmented Rarity 👽
Before we get into this week’s selection, I want to announce something I wanted to create for a long time..
…the dramaverse Discord server! 🥳 Be the first to join 😎
Won’t be saying anything on other platforms yet 🤫
Enough of the spam, now let’s get started with this week’s curation 👇
Humanoid robots could be a reality in 2023 🤖
🔗 Elon musk says tesla humanoid robot will go into production in 2023
In a future reality where humanoid robots are able to download our personalities into them… A robot that is meant to do my grocery shopping shouldn’t have my lazy traits lol. Wondering how much similar to Detroit: Become human 🎮 our reality will be once these robots are available for the general consumer and not only companies. For now their efforts will remain on enterprise solutions that we can’t just afford 💸
Read this one too if you want to get more details 👇

Another MAANG* company getting into XR 👓
🔗 Amazon Job Postings Hint at Future XR Device
Finally! We got Meta, Apple and Google, so Amazon and Netflix were the next ones to invest in the future! I mean, Netflix already offers its app on VR but I wonder if after loosing so many subscriptions will they do something revolutionary to ensure they keep being at the top 🥇
If you are curious you can take a look at the offer or even apply here! Remember you can also apply to Meta through this page.
*It was FAANG until Facebook rebranded to Meta
Gravity Sketch getting more funding! 🤑
🔗 Gravity Sketch draws $33M for a platform to design, collaborate on and produce 3D objects
To be honest I prefer Tilt Brush because I think of Gravity Sketch as a more technical tool and Tilt Brush for more free hand art 🎨
Since I am not a painter or 3D artist, I am not an appropriate one to compare these tools, but the reality is Tilt Brush is from Google, so we cannot compare the resources behind it. Can’t wait to test what they will be able to make with so much funding!
Horizon to the mainstream 🤳
🔗 Meta’s Bosworth Reveals Web-Based Horizon Worlds
It’s curious how sci-fi books tend to predict the future so well, or at least, anticipate it. The Oasis of Ready Player One is what the Horizon of Meta will be one day (but not dystopian please 🥺).
Since not everyone owns a VR headset, Meta is working on bringing its virtual world to the masses by allowing browser access 🖥 Definitely not the same experience, but at least creators and world builders will be able to show their creations to more of us 🌍.
Fortnite partners with Coachella 🕺
🔗 Experience the music and fashion of Coachella in Fortnite
I know I talk a lot about Fortnite, but they are ahead of many companies for metaversy topics (check my last reel!)
As part of the Coachellaverse campaign that includes AR filters for Instagram and an app 📱 for the festival developed by Niantic (Pokémon) that augmented the experience of the attendees with AR, they also partnered with Fortnite by creating skins and adding a Coachella radio for when you are riding a car 🚗 in the game. To be honest I expected some live concert like they did many other times, but not bad!
(Btw, they are speculating that Billie Eilish will be next 🎤).
Thanks for reading 🥰 Let me know what you think about this week’s selection, I tried to include more links to backup my arguments so it’s easier to follow 🤓
Oh, one more. Not XR related, but I found this website that has a huge repository of game UI, link here 🎮
See you again next Sunday, have a great week 💜
