Hola 💚 Thanks for returning to Augmented Rarity! Today is about research, specifically AI and space related 👽
In the race to build the most realistic humanoid, researchers in Tokyo have created synthetic skin from human cells to cover a robotic finger. For now, this synthetic skin has no sense of touch, so at a functional level it is not yet very different from typical silicone coverings 🔬.
China outdated Nasa by publishing the most detailed map of the moon 🌕 It’s beautiful! 👇 Obviously, this will be of great advantage to researchers.
NASA will investigate unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) 🛸to identify and collect data to scientifically understand UAPs 😱. Awaiting the results of their investigation 👽
Humans are no longer required to operate cloning machines because they are self automated 😰. SciFi future dystopias do not look like SciFi anymore, do they? No worries, though. Automaton is still far from perfect today, just ask Elon Musk and his Tesla's numerous autopilot crashes 🚗.
Speaking of dystopias, an AI was trained on 4chan posts 🤖. Quoted by the researcher itself “It perfectly encapsulated the mix of offensiveness, nihilism, trolling, and deep distrust of any information whatsoever that permeates most posts on /pol.” A reflection of society huh 👀
Ok I have one more! Not AI or space related buuuut so random.
The monarchy doesn't even need to attend their IRL events anymore, as Queen Elizabeth showed us appearing as a hologram inside her 260-year-old golden carriage 👑. Yes, I understand that it was due to health issues, and no, we won't get into why there are still monarchies in the 21st century because I don't understand it either 😅
And since I run this newsletter, a personal update 😗 As you might know, i’m vlogging my design process while working on a new project (a 3D scanner for nostalgic objects so we can all be minimalist in the real world but who cares about digital clutter huh). Here’s part 3 👇
(Yes yes, I need to make a proper thumbnail because I reused another video’s pic of me, will do that next week)
Thanks for reading 🥰 Let me know what you think about this week’s selection!
See you next Sunday, have a great week!
Best,
Martina
Such a fun newsletter!
