The Metaverse draining Meta 🥵, Google getting into Web3 🌐, decentralised societies 🧳 and more!

Welcome back to Augmented Rarity! 👽 This week’s highlights are mainly Metaverse focused, let’s start 👇

• Meta’s new AI is learning about how our muscles and bones move to create better avatars, which will improve our feeling of presence in the Metaverse 🤸‍♀️. That’s only the mainstream use of their AI, which was started to accelerate development of prosthetics, physical rehab, and surgery techniques 👩🏻‍⚕️

• The Metaverse is not going to be viable until 10-15 years from now 🥵, since Mark Zuckerberg says Meta's Metaverse project will lose 'significant' sums of money for up to 5 years 💸

• Google is getting into web3 so they can make Google Cloud the first choice for developers in Web3 👩🏻‍💻

• The beginning of a decentralized society is close. Due to the lack of identity in web3, Vitalik, the creator of Ethereum, is working on a decentralised identity, or as how they are calling it, non-transferable “soulbound” tokens (SBTs).

• Niantic is bringing AR to WebAR which means that no need for devs to build AR only for apps, but also for webs! And they made a cute AR experience to celebrate it 👇
