AI to replace humans in drive-thrus 🚗, Apple to launch 3 XR headsets 🕶, creating an entire movie with AI 🎬, and more!

Artificial Intelligence

• Tori, the new AI to replace humans in drive–thrus takes orders like a real person 🚗, oh well, actually it does it 20% faster.

• You can create an entire movie with MidJourney, Stable Diffusion, and DALL-E 2 🎬, as a techpreneur is already doing! And yes, including footage, sound effects, and voices. You can follow the progress on Twitter 🐦.

• “Théâtre D'opéra Spatial”, the first AI painting to win an artistic competition. Using MidJourney, a guy who is not an artist won the digital art category at the Colorado State Fair. The judges didn't know it was made with AI, but still considered it worthy of first place when they knew.

• In case you haven’t heard, Dall·e 2 recently released the outpainting feature 🎨, which allows you to expand images, and of course many people are using it to expand existing paintings 🖼.

• And since everything has to be monetised in this world, you can now sell your AI art prompts in this marketplace 💸.

• And my personal spam of the week before we get to the Extended Reality section 🔮

In this video we cover the theoretical basis of what is design fiction, I tell you about two design fiction projects I have done in the past and used MidJourney to improve them (since I never felt like I really finished them 👀).

Extended Reality

• Not one nor two, but 3 apple headsets for 2023?! 🍏 For now they are only rumours, so don’t expect any XR device at today’s Apple event. For now, we could almost affirm that one of those devices will be pretty similar to the Meta Quest 2 but with the M1 chip.

• Gentle Monster to partner with Nreal to make AR glasses? 🕶 The eyewear brand already partnered in 2019 with Huawei, but it was more like a replacement of earphones, rather than adding any kind of augmented experience.

• Meanwhile, Meta is partnering with Qualcomm to get customised VR chipsets for the future roadmap of Quest products 👾
